  8. │ This record is a means of conveying information about a software   │

  87. 1. To run VERSAMAP, change to the drive and directory containing
  88.    VERSAMAP, type VMAP at the DOS prompt, then press Enter.
  89.  
  90.    When the program has finished loading, the screen will display
  91.    the author's name and address.
  92.  
  93.    To plot the default world map, press Alt, then the letter R,
  94.    then press Enter.
  95.  
  96. 2. Pull down menus are accessed with the Alt key.  Press Alt and
  97.    then the highlighted letter to access a menu.  Use the up and
  98.    down cursor keys; then press Enter to select a menu item.
  99.  
  100. 3. To exit VERSAMAP press Esc, then Alt, then the letter P, then
  101.    the letter X.
  102.  
  103. 4. To print the manual, set the printer to the extreme top of a new
  104.    page of paper (at the perforation for tractor feed paper); turn
  105.    on the printer; type the following command at the DOS prompt,
  106.  
  107.                        TYPE VMAP.DOC > PRN
  108.  
  109.    and press Enter.  The manual is 58 pages long.
  110.  
  111. 5. If you are printing the manual from a word processor, set all
  112.    margins (top, bottom, left, right) to 0; and set it for 66 lines
  113.    of text, and a page length of 66 lines.
  114.  
  115. 6. You must install the Hercules driver, MSHERC.COM, to use
  116.    Hercules mono graphics with VERSAMAP.  To install the driver,
  117.    change to the directory containing the VERSAMAP files, type the
  118.    following command at the DOS prompt,

  121.  
  122.    and press Enter.
  123.  
  124. 7. Registration of VERSAMAP is $15 (plus $5 shipping to countries
  125.    other than the United States or Canada) for which you will
  126.    receive:

  128.    o  a copy of the most recent version of the program;

  130.    o  Helvetica fonts for CGA, EGA, and VGA;
  131.  
  132.    o  additional digital map files, including VMAP3.MAP (31,000
  133.       points) and VMAP5.MAP (6,000 points);

  135.    o  the opportunity to order more detailed digital map files from the
  136.       VERSAMAP Micro World Database, from World Data Bank II, and from
  137.       the U.S. Geological Survey's Digital Line Graph database.
